Hypnotic Double Images Synchronicity
This image has an 'optical illusion' dimension,
which sets the brain into overdrive,
trying to 'work out what it might be?'
Additionally, the black and white lines
suggest possible surfaces and sides
that might form a three-dimensional shape?
... but that too does not quite make sense!
So the effect is to create an optical curiosity.
The brain is engaged in both
'What it is?'
and
'Which way up does it go?
Add to this 'trick of the eye',
the double images used,
and the enigmatic quality of the picture is increased once again.
Now there are 'two of these things!'
'What are they?'
'Is there a mirror between them?'
'Are they conjoined?'
'How do they relate to one another?'
Finally the nature of the make-up of the brain,
is symbolised in this picture.
The Left and Right Hemispheres,
and more importantly the idea of a
'conscious' mind
and an 'unconscious' mind.
Quite a number of images that one might describe
as 'psychologically intriguing'
have this 'duplicity' -
this expression of
'two sides'
