Blur in Blue and Orange
Many pictures in the 'hypnotic' category tend to be 'non-descript'.
They provide little information. They show 'nothing in particular.'
This vagueness; this lack of precise definition; is exactly their purpose.
They 'distract' the busy, analytical, conscious mind;
for it has nothing to tune into or 'think about' specifically;
and at the same time, they engage the deeper parts of the mind;
setting up 'an unconscious search for potential meaning.'
They draw us in to their apparent meaninglessness,
so that we begin to apply 'our own' unconscious thoughts,
ideas and meanings.
