Hi Paul
Just to let you know how I have been going the last few days:
18th - Was due to have a busy day next day, so took a sleeper,
but I have to say, my sleep does seem deeper for having the hypnosis treatment session.
19th - Well this night was very different.
I did not want a sleeping tablet, so I read – rested a while - but did not drop off
– so I then listened to your CD – and I went into a deep trance.
I had feelings like I was on strong sleeping tablets, and my body was very heavy.
20th - We were away for the weekend and driving,
so I took a sleeping tablet to make sure I did not lack sleep.
21st – Away from home again … so I took a sleeping tablet
22nd – I did not take a tablet tonight.
Instead, I read and listened to disc. (CD)
This put me in a deep relaxation state towards the end, as the tranquil waves were coming over me.
I did not drift off to sleep immediately, but eventually I read a little again then just relaxed.
I went to sleep about 3am so I did get 4.5 hours sleep. However, I woke up feeling quite energetic.
23rd – I did not take a sleeping tablet ...
I just read, rested, relaxed and just drifted off to sleep naturally. 7 hours.
Hi Paul
On Friday night, after our first session, at 10.30pm I was so tired and yawning,
I went straight to bed and just fell asleep … for 8 hours.
On Saturday night I did my exercises – as you advised
- and after an hour drifted into an 8 hour sleep.
[Therapist’s Note: We asked the unconscious mind, in the very first session, to provide JUST ONE FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP, in the next 7 days.
And we ACTUALLY achieved TWO night’s sleep.]
[The following week:]
Friday: I went through exercises from our session ... and went into deep relaxation and prolonged sleep. 8 hours.
Saturday – Although I decided to take a sleeping tablet, I actually found that I slept deeply for 7 hours.
This felt like the deepest sleep, I'd had, for a long time.
Sunday. I read my book … then went through the sleep exercises you had given me …
... and after 1 hour I actually went into a deep sleep for 6.5 hours.
Monday - I decided to take another sleeping tablet - (as the grandchildren were visiting the next day!)
- but I slept through … for at least 6 hours!
Tuesday – I did my face and eyes relaxation ... then enjoyed the visual thoughts of the deck-chair on the beach ...
... the sea etc. and drifted off to sleep around 2am for 5.5. hours.
Wednesday. I took a sleeping tablet on this day – another very busy day – but again I slept for 6/7 hours.
Thursday. I read, relaxed, did my exercises and soon drifted off for a full 6 hours.
Hi Paul,
I just wanted to let you know that Mum has done really well this weekend.
She's exhausted - (with the journey) -
... but she made it to Cornwall OK ...
... and attended the family wedding for 4/5 hours … which was a real triumph!
My sister and I are convinced the hypnotherapy has had a positive effect!
We would love to book another session in for mum ... while we are on a roll with her.
Dear Paul
Thank you so much for your detailed reply, the contents of which I found most useful.
Whilst I appreciate that you have no immediate availability,
I have now checked out other hypnotherapists on the web but I am reluctant to use any of them.
As so much trust must be involved with this sort of treatment …
… I shall be very much obliged if you will make me an appointment to see you in the second week in January please.
As I have suffered for the last few years - (with insomnia) - it will not hurt me to wait a few more weeks.
I am in England until the beginning of February, when I go back to Spain for 1 month,
but as you advised my treatment would be finished by that time anyway.
I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
Kind regards.
Wow!
That was very different to when I’ve had hypnosis before …
- with a different therapist … some years ago!
That was amazing!
I was so much more relaxed.
I seemed to go much deeper - in the session I had with you Paul –
- way deeper than ever before.
And the effects were so immediate too.
I’ve felt fantastic ... and so positive ever since!
Hi Paul,
Please may I book another hypnotherapy session?
I have noticed I've been a lot more 'energized' since the last session.
And I've met up with friends and done things …
… where normally I would simply cancel or make an excuse.
I've had a tough week but have managed it way better than usual too.
I’d be interested to see what another appointment could achieve.
Kind regards.
By the way, Paul,
I was baby-sitting last week and managed to catch a massive spider
that was in my great nephew’s bedroom on the wall over his bed.
It was a corker!
No problem!
Sorted!
THANKYOU!!!
Hi Paul,
I came for a hypnosis session for my wasp phobia just before I went on holiday, this summer.
I just wanted to let you know that it did definitely give me some respite.
And I was really pleased with the results.
I did try and practise some of the techniques that you showed me …
… but it feels as though it has worn off a little ...
- probably because my old habits were SO ingrained!
So, as the wasp season is coming towards an end now …
… I wondered if it would be worth starting a bit earlier next year …
so I've got chance to develop some of the strategies …
… to help me overcome this silly fear once and for all!
I visited the hypnotherapist Paul Monaghan to help stop my solo home drinking.
I saw him twice in May last year and I'm still not drinking on my own at home.
The first session is an introduction to discuss what you want to achieve, to explain the process and to give you a chance to decide whether you think it's for you.
And it’s free!
I then had one session of hypnosis with Paul and I strongly recommend it.
As you know I am naturally cynical and not inclined to believe in stuff …
… but it works so that's enough for me!
Hi Paul,
Just a quick note to say …
I'm still not drinking at home … on my own. :)
[This was after the client had a single session of hypnosis on 20th May 2015.
This email was received 7th September 2016.]
So that’s …. 15 months previously!!!
Lasting change!
[Immediately after the session]
Thank you for your help with my daughter …
she has become a lot calmer now and is much more focused.
[After the school summer holidays.]
Just a quick note to keep you up to date with E****'s progress.
We have had her GCSE results yesterday and she got 10 A's - with one at A*!
Thank you so much for your help, as although I knew she would do well …
… she exceeded all of our expectations …
and we are all convinced that your techniques played a large part.
Kind regards.
Thank you for our first session last week.
I just wanted to let you know I got a call back for the second stage of interviews.
I felt a lot more confident than I normally do during interviews, and did feel that the session I had with you helped. After a slightly nervous start I grew into the interview very quickly.
I do feel that a second Hypnotherapy session would help me feel even more confident for the second stage of interviews in two weeks.
[Before having Hypnotherapy this client had described his fear of interviews as follows:]
'In an interview environment and when presenting to a group, I feel extremely nervous. I can’t control my breathing and have a shake in my voice, and it just becomes a very negative, un-enjoyable experience. This has always held me back when it comes to applying for jobs or trying to push myself forward to what I know I'm capable of.
This also affects other areas of my life, for example when meeting my girlfriend’s parents and friends I’m very quiet and find it really difficult to be myself, which is really frustrating.
I would love to just be myself whoever I'm with and be confident when speaking to a group, and whether I get the job or not I’ll know there was nothing more I could do and can use it as a positive experience moving forward in all parts of my life.'
[Footnote – 2 weeks later:]
I just wanted to let you know, I GOT THE JOB and start in a month.
It was a very intensive interview but I felt very confident and relaxed.
Big thank you for your help; it made a huge difference.
Hi
I just wanted to say thank you sooooooooo much for last night!
I had my filling and was so brave I didn’t even cry!!!
Thanks again!
Things have been a lot better since my last session.
I have only woken up feeling like I was clenching my teeth during the night … a couple of times.
I would like to keep focusing on keeping calm and relaxing my jaw, through hypnosis, particularly as I enter into sleep.
I am very keen on the idea of the pre-sleep C.D. which you said you could customise to include suggestions for my jaw to remain relaxed throughout the night.
Thanks so much for the CD.
I have listened to it each night and have found it helpful in getting to sleep.
And I have also found that if I wake in the night, I can go back to sleep much quicker!
So I am definitely benefiting from the relaxation effect.
I wondered if you would consider doing a similar one (a CD) for the start of the day?
I'd like one with positive affirmations on it ... and even more ego-strengthening?
Just a thought as I know I would find it very beneficial.
[One week later]
I have slept really well again this week ... and I didn’t use your CD last night and still slept well!
But I have it as back-up, in case I feel I need it.
I will let you know how things progress ... but all fantastic for now!
Thanks.
Thanks for another great session today.
I wanted you ... once again ... to turn down and turn off the unhelpful voices that cause me to doubt myself.
And you did exactly that!
Last time - the first time - I was completely blown away by the treatment!
It lasted 5 months ... and I know I can now look forward to having that same resilience once again, after today's booster session.
Last time you gave me a gentle flow of thoughts ... day and night.
Thank you so much.
I have been feeling really well / really good
– ever since my first hypnosis session with you – months ago now.
It worked!
I have been feeling much happier and more relaxed within myself, ever since.
All the old, negative, inner-thoughts … have pretty much been shut up.
I am now … content and confident … inside myself … all the time.
I also feel happy now in expressing my opinions – and making conversation easily.
So now, when I am walking down the street, I feel like I’m … just walking down the street … if that makes sense?
What I mean is ... I’m not thinking about how I look.
Or about what people might be thinking about me.
I am no longer self-conscious.
Hi Paul, I saw you for anxiety treatment last year and felt so much better afterwards.
I'd like to find out your availability for a ‘top-up’ appointment, to help me to improve other aspects of my personality, rather than focusing on anxiety related problems, as I'm quite better in that regard nowadays.
I am looking to improve my focus, assertiveness and general motivation.
When I try to explain, what I personally I get from hypnosis ... I now say to all my friends:-
"I know what I’ve got to do ... it’s just that ... I need some help with myself!"
Hypnosis certainly gives me that help!
It's a great big, helping hand.
Just to say I have just had the arthrogram in my hip and all was fine!!!
Yippee!!!
A little wobble at the beginning but then no probs. No hint of fainting.
Also I chatted away to the doctor too, while he was doing it … about cricket! i.e. he is a big
fan too.
I did the Self-Hypno C.D. this morning - before I attended the hospital - and was very relaxed.
Very many thanks, once again, for all your help!
I’ve decided to come back for a session of hypnosis because I want it to help me to be fully ready for a fresh start ...
... at University.
I want to get the best out of this big change / big chance in my life.
I want hypnosis to help me to stay flexible and open-minded ... so I can take things as they come.
I want you to help me to remain relaxed and fluid and flexible ... as you did before my A level exams ...
... so that I am out-going and responsive and receptive ...
... so I can fully enjoy this experience of leaving home and starting out in a new place.
I’ve come back for another session because ... yes ... I have been feeling way more positive.
I’ve noticed that I haven’t been doing all that ‘horrible thinking’ recently either!
I haven’t been rattling on about negative things ... in my own head ... anymore.
I am freeing myself from all that rubbish.
I also seem to have stopped thinking in the past.
And I want to carry on waking up and thinking - Wow! It's a nice day!
I want more of that ‘Can Do Now’ focus ... so I can truly enjoy the years ahead.
[Feedback can happen in the most unexpected places!]
I passed a woman in the street today, whilst out shopping with my wife ... and as this lady went by ... she commented aloud:-
'I haven't touched a drop since!' ... touched her nose with her finger and and gave me a knowing wink!
When I looked at her records I saw that she had received a single session of hypnosis - two months previously
- to stop her developing a tendency to drink at home alone!
Clearly it had worked! She had successfully cut back on her beer consumption.
And it had lasted two months.
At the time of her treatment she had commented:
Beer is 'a nice friend but a bad enemy’ - especially when drinking at home on your own.
Now she was able to enjoy her social drinking which was fine - but was no longer tempted into 'solo-drinking.'
Hi Paul.
I thought you might be interested to know
– following my 2 hypnotherapy sessions with you
- that my recent flights to and from Barcelona went well.
Especially the outgoing flight – where I was really relaxed both before and during the flight.
And I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine too! Great!
For the return flight I was a little more anxious beforehand.
By coincidence ours was the same type of plane that went down in Egypt while we were away!
Also during the flight there was some turbulence … but I was still a lot better than in the old days.
I’m sure this was because of your sessions.
Many thanks.
I am back to becoming a regular holiday-maker again!
Just some feedback about the ‘anchor’ technique that you gave me in hypnosis.
The hand-on-hand … ‘ease’ effect.
It works!
Although some of the pain stays ... it certainly ... turns off the anxiety and the stress of the pain.
It’s almost as though a switch has been switched ... and I calm down about it.
Also - pain wise - I have not had it as often.
The hypnosis basically helps me to cope with everything ... till I get some down-time.
It helps my resilience.
It increases my inner strength.
The CD you gave me is also good. It really helps.
I use it a couple of times a week for a boost.
I had a great feeling after the session.
From when I left and for the days that have followed, I have been very calm & relaxed.
I rode both my ponies well and confidently and even helped a young girl get her pony in the trailer.
I feel like I’m in the right place with riding again now.
It’s like you gave me back the excitement of riding.
And it was the inner calm that I felt that really struck me.
Nothing seemed to be able to spark me into … 'Aaaargh!' The old panic!
And I thought ... ‘I like this!’
You certainly helped me to feel like a champion again!
Now, once I’m on the horse - it’s all there again. Absolute confidence.
Of course, now and again, there is the occasional little moment of self-doubt ... but now ... I can handle it - as it’s happening ... while I’m riding.
And I glad to say, I am also able to get my ‘difficult horse’ in the box again.
In fact last week I noticed ... I was in the box with him!
I have not been showing any Bulimic tendencies ever since our last session.
Two weeks previously.
Thank you so much.
It's great to be eating normally ... and healthily once again.
Paul,
Again many thanks for what you have done for me!
You’ve totally changed my approach to alcohol.
I have been drinking and ‘getting out of it’ from about 1997!
And it's only now – over the last 6 months – since I saw you
- that I've stopped this ridiculous behaviour!
And I haven't even had to make any real effort.
It feels like I'm cheating … which is great .. as it's just too easy!
You are a genius mate!
I must tell you Paul, that I once again I listened to your CD last night and had the most restful of sleeps.
I am astonished at how relaxed I can feel simply by listening.
I am genuinely amazed Paul as I used to really struggle to get a truly deep sleep.
[Email to her sister who lives in the UK.]
Thank you for recommending Paul so highly.
I was so glad that I visited him and had two sessions of hypnotherapy whilst I was over from the States recently.
As you know we flew to France for a short break before going back home, and whilst I was there I actually went down into some dungeons!
Something I would never have even dreamed of doing before!
Also, we had to get on our plane, during a thunder storm when flying back to the States.
And I was not bothered at all! I just felt really relaxed about it.
Finally, I also watched a programme about the catacombs in Rome recently - and this was something in the past that I would never have been able to do.
Hi Paul,
I would just like to update you on the success of both my daughters’ progress, following their sessions with you.
My youngest daughter continues to be able to take tablets with no problems and now likes to impress us with taking two at once!
[This client previously suffered from ‘pseudodysphagia’ – an irrational fear of swallowing or choking]
We noticed a difference with my oldest daughter very quickly, although it has taken her a little longer to see it herself.
She is definitely more confident, more comfortable with herself and her concentration when studying is greatly improved.
I really feel her future will be better as a result.
So thank you very much again.
Thank you Paul for the Hypnotherapy session the other day ...
I can only describe it as feeling like I have had a holiday away from myself.
Hello Paul, I just thought I’d give you an update after my session with you.
I notice I am having better self-esteem and am feeling more content.
I find on a daily basis that I have subtle low key thoughts about myself or situations which are extremely useful, comforting and positive.
I am 100% certain that change has occurred.
And I love that unlike me my new inner voice is not frenetic or screaming loudly …
instead it’s a quiet elegant voice.
So thank you Paul.
some amazing news! He went back to school.
Great feedback about my son who your treated recently ... and some amazing news! He went back to school a week before the end of term 4!
He studied for two weeks and passed his Maths GCSE - which is brilliant considering he had stopped attending school altogether more than a year previous and hadn't even finished KS3!
He gradually gained confidence and is now back in Yr. 11 - happy and taking Triple Science, Double English, Engineering, Psychology (the irony!) … Higher Maths and Spanish. He is now talking about VIth form and Uni!
A miracle!!!!
Thanks so much for all your help there, with him.
After giving up smoking in the very first session, all my friends kept asking me...
‘What did he say to you?’
I told them ... ‘I can’t remember ... even though I was listening at the time!’
